In 1991 he graduated in Urbanistic at IUAV University, in 1994/95 he was Visiting Researcher at Berkeley University of California (Usa) , researcher sice 2003, Phd in Territorial Planning since 1996. Since 2011 he is associate Professor of Urbanistic at IUAV University, he is researcher and professor in Urbanistic, Urban Planning, City and Territory Analysis, as well as member of the Urbanistic Phd electoral College. From 2004 to 2008 he was researcher at the Faculty of Architecture at Siracusa University, and between 2006 and 2008 he was researcher and professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Trento University. He was research collaborator for The transformation of the urban habitat in Europe; Itaten; Returb, I futuri della città; Dispersione europea; Venezia città metropolitana. Currently he coordinates the research The welfare space in Europe with Maria Chiara Tosi. He worked at the development of urban plans for Brescia, Pesaro, Casarano, Cadoneghe, Macerata, Siracusa, Belluno, Feltre, Ferrara and partecipate to projectual calls for Rome, Spoleto, Salerno, Lodi, Pescara, Sarajevo, Bozen and Monza. He wrote the books Spazi del welfare (Quodlibet, Macerata, 2011) and Tracce di città (Angeli, Milano, 2001). His essays have been published within the volumes Le forme del territorio italiano (Laterza, Roma-Bari, 1996), La grande Venezia (Marsilio, Venezia, 2002), After sprawl (Nai, Rotterdam, 2002), Il senso del vuoto(Manifestolibri, Roma, 2005), Trans Emilia (Christoph Merian Verlag, Winterthur, 2005) as well as in the magazines Urbanistica, Asur and Cru.
